The most recent report issued by the independent platform of Venezuelan civil society organizations HumVenezuela, reflects that 20.1 million Venezuelan people faced “extensive needs” for humanitarian assistance and protection during the year 2023. Of these, 14.2 million “experienced more critical needs” and 4.2 million “reached a severe state of need.”
The HumVenezuela report, which collects data for the period from March 2022 to November 2023, was prepared after a rigorous process of collection, processing and analysis, employing a system of on-the-ground monitoring and documentation, including a household survey, applied between July and August 2023, in 20 of the country’s 24 states.
